These terms apply to voodoogaming.co.za, the Voodoo ZA Rust server and the Voodoo Network portal for Rust server owners (together, “the service”). The service is run by WOLFN, the owner of Voodoo ZA, in South Africa (“we”, “us”). By playing on the server, signing in or using the portal you agree to these terms, the Privacy policy and the Player ban guidelines.
1. Using the server and the site
Voodoo ZA is a vanilla South African PvP Rust server. It wipes monthly (the schedule and the next wipe are on the home page). A wipe resets the map, bases and per-wipe stats. Past wipes stay visible on the stats and wipe pages.
The server and the site are free to use. We try to keep them online, but we don't promise any uptime, wipe date, map or feature. We may change, pause or stop any part of the service at any time. Admins may remove structures that are laggy or break the server rules.
The service is meant for players aged 16 and older. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian to play and to sign in.
2. Accounts and Steam sign-in
You sign in with Steam (Steam OpenID). We never see your Steam password. Signing in gives us your SteamID64, Steam name and avatar (see the Privacy policy).
Your account is your Steam account: keep it secure, and don't share or sell it. Anything done while you're signed in counts as done by you.
Staff access (VIP, Moderator, Admin, Owner) is given by us or by a server's owner. It can be changed or removed at any time.
Steam accounts with a VAC ban less than one year old are not allowed on Voodoo ZA. No exceptions.
3. Conduct and enforcement
You must follow the server rules in game, in chat, on the site and on our Discord. In short: no cheating, scripts, macros or exploits; no racism, hate speech, harassment or griefing; no spam or advertising; no impersonating staff; and respect for other players and staff.
Staff may warn, mute, kick or ban players under the Player ban guidelines. Serious offences can lead to a network ban, which is shared across Voodoo Network servers once a network moderator approves it. You can appeal a ban on the appeal page.
Don't try to get around a ban (for example with another account). Don't attack, overload or probe the server, the site or its APIs, and don't scrape them in a way that harms the service.
4. Content you submit
This covers anything you send us or upload: gallery base photos and write-ups, designer/builder names, ban appeals, reports, and anything you give us for the blog.
You keep ownership of your content.
You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, copy, resize, crop, re-encode, display and share it on the site, in Discord and on our social channels to run and promote the service. The licence lasts while the content is on the service, plus a reasonable time for copies and backups to be cleared.
You confirm that the content is yours (or that you have permission), that it is accurate, and that it doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights.
Gallery uploads are re-encoded (location and camera data is removed). Staff may hide, edit, re-tag or remove any content, and may hand an unclaimed gallery base to the player who built it.
Blog posts are written and published by staff. Blog content is ours unless the post credits someone else.
5. Voodoo Network portal (server owners)
The portal lets owners of other Rust servers use the same tools as Voodoo ZA: stats pages, an owner dashboard, staff management, an RCON relay and the shared network ban list.
Owner: the Steam account that adds a server becomes its owner. You must actually run the server, or have the right to manage it. You prove this with the verify code (in your server name, tags or description) or with the first plugin push from your server's IP. One owner can add up to 5 servers.
Your token: the server token connects your plugins to the portal. Keep it secret, and rotate it in the dashboard if it leaks. Anything sent with your token counts as sent by your server.
Plugins: VoodooCore and VoodooRconRelay run on your server and send gameplay data (stats, sessions with player IP addresses, chat, reports, events) to the portal. As the server owner you decide to install them, and you're responsible for telling your players (for example in your rules or MOTD) and for having a lawful reason to share their data. We process that data to provide the service, as set out in the Privacy policy.
Your staff: you're responsible for who you add as staff, and for what they do with the dashboard and RCON.
Network bans: you may submit network bans only with genuine evidence. Network moderators may reject, approve or revoke them. How your server enforces the network list (all bans, cheating/scripting only, or report-only) depends on your plan and settings.
6. Plans, vouchers and refunds
Plan
What you get
How to get it
Free
Public stats and leaderboards, 30 days of history on the dashboard, network ban list as report-only (staff are alerted on join), kick / temp-ban via the relay, up to 3 staff.
Default for every new server.
Pro
Everything in Free, plus the RCON console and scheduler, full network ban enforcement, unlimited history, your own branding, and up to 50 staff.
By voucher for now. The price is shown on the portal page once it is set.
Complimentary
All Pro features, no expiry.
Not sold. Given by us at our discretion (for example to Voodoo ZA), and can be changed at any time.
Payment: there is no online payment on the site at the moment. Paid time is added with vouchers or set by us by hand. If online payment is added later, we'll update these terms first.
Vouchers (codes like VOODOO-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) add a number of months of a plan to one server, and only the owner of that server can redeem them. If the server already has that plan, the months are added on top of the current expiry. A voucher can have a "redeem before" date, can be used only as many times as it allows (usually once), and can be revoked by us if it was issued by mistake or obtained unfairly. Keep codes private: anyone with a code can redeem it. Too many failed attempts are blocked for a while.
Expiry: when paid time runs out, the server automatically falls back to the Free plan. Your data is kept, but older history is hidden from the dashboard.
Refunds: vouchers and plan time are not refundable, can't be exchanged for cash, and can't be moved to another server once redeemed, unless we agree otherwise in writing or the law requires it. If a voucher doesn't work because of a fault on our side, contact us and we'll fix it or replace it.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under South African law that can't be excluded (for example the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, where it applies).
7. Acceptable use of the portal
Don't use the portal or the plugins to:
add a server you don't run, or pretend to be another server or owner;
submit false, edited or misleading network ban evidence, or use bans to settle personal disputes;
harass, dox or expose players, or publish data from the dashboard (such as IP addresses, chat or SteamIDs) outside your server's staff;
get around plan limits, rate limits or security, share your token, or interfere with other servers on the network;
run RCON commands that break the law or the Rust / Facepunch terms;
send malware, spam or excessive traffic to the service.
8. Suspension and removal
We may suspend a server on the portal, remove staff access, reject or revoke network bans, revoke vouchers, or close an account if these terms or the server rules are broken, if the service is at risk, or if the law requires it. A suspended server's public pages go offline and its directory listing loses its portal links. Its data is kept, so the suspension can be lifted. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
You can stop using the portal at any time: remove the plugins from your server and contact us if you'd like your server's data deleted (see the Privacy policy).
9. Server directory
The server directory is built automatically from Steam's public Rust server list. A listing isn't an endorsement. An owner can hide an unclaimed listing by putting a one-time code in the server name, or hide a portal server with the "listed" setting in the dashboard.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided free (or, for Pro, as described above) and "as is". Stats, leaderboards, kill feeds, item, monument and DLC data and server listings come from game logs and third-party sources, and may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. We're not responsible for third-party services such as Steam, Discord, YouTube, Twitch, our game host or Facepunch, or for losses inside the game (items, bases, progress) caused by wipes, bugs, rollbacks, raids or admin actions.
11. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit, in-game items or reputation, arising from the service. Our total liability for any claim about the portal is limited to the amount you paid us for your server's plan in the 12 months before the claim. For the free service, we're not liable at all, as far as the law allows. This doesn't limit liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or anything else that can't be limited by law.
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction. If part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. We'll announce important changes on the site or on our Discord before they take effect, where we reasonably can. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, stop using the service (and, as a server owner, remove the plugins).
